Bio-fuel good for global warming? Think again...

http://www.nature.org/initiatives/climatechange/features/art23819.html

Umm...don't think it's going to happen

"Require 25 Percent of Renewable Electricity by 2025: Obama will establish a 25 percent federal Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS) to require that 25 percent of electricity consumed in the U.S. is derived from clean, sustainable energy sources, like solar, wind and geothermal by 2025."

From http://www.barackobama.com/issues/energy/#reduce-gas-price-burden

This is nearly laughable. Solar and Wind generation sources themselves are not nearly stable enough to be relied upon for even 15% of the nation's electricity, even if the generation methods were very efficient. This shows a bit of ignorance on Obama's part. Now if nuclear were included in this, it would be very possible. But for some reason Obama refuses to acknowledge that the technology is already there (but the government and pointless environmentalist litigation is preventing real development).

What on earth is the United States waiting for?! Look at France:

* France derives over 75% of its electricity from nuclear energy. This is due to a long-standing policy based on energy security.
* France is the world's largest net exporter of electricity due to its very low cost of generation, and gains over EUR 3 billion per year from this.
* France has been very active in developing nuclear technology. Reactors and fuel products and services are a major export.

Now there's an energy policy for you.
